51st Annual Hillsborough Concours d'Elegance
We were invited to attend the Hillsborough Councours this year. We had to make some minor repairs to the car including fixing the rear brake from Monterey last year. The car came together very well. Parking with a big trailer is quite a challenge at the Crocker school. We ended up off east of the school at the golf course. We decided to drive that car into the concourse which is awesome!
8:00am and the sound of that little single in the fog is amazing.
We lined up the car, with the other competitors. The Baldwin Special and 1950's special with a flat head, this car just came back from New Zealend. A very neat car and the nicest owners you could ever meet. The next car in class was a 1970's McClaren formula 2 car very well restored. and leastly a 1984 March group C car. This car was freshly restored. The car was not restored with it's original lemans body work but rather with IMSA body work, but the car was shinny and extremely fresh.
The judges were amazing and so was the event. Some of my favorite cars were there including the Phantom Corsair, and a Tatra t87.
When it was time for the presentation we were very excited. We push started the car an lined up.
Third place went to the McClaren, who would win us or the March?
Well we got second place! Great news for a cars that is being raced regularly.
